Time Capsule

Fawkham Parish Council is creating a time capsule to mark the end of the second Elizabethan era, which we hope to bury at the Christmas tree light event on 26th November. We are pulling together information looking at Fawkham in 1952 and 2022 – what’s changed and what’s the same – to include in the capsule. We will also include some information about 1977, 2002 and 2012, to mark the jubilee years.

It would be great to have residents’ recollections of the coronation and jubilees – for example, we already have a resident’s recollection of the fetes held in 1953 and photos of the prayer book presented to children in Fawkham to mark the coronation. We also have some items from this year’s Platinum Jubilee celebration to include, and a photo of the Book of Condolence in the church. Please let us know if you have any recollections, information, photos or items you’d like to see included – the picture shows the size of the time capsule. Please get in touch by 20th November.
