Gay Dawn Farm, Pennis Lane (co-located with Corinthian Sports Club)

SDC has granted planning permission for the conversion of some of the barns at Gay Dawn Farm into 9 dwellings. Fawkham Parish Council objected to this planning application, as did a number of residents, with concerns including the type of houses (8 x 4 bed and 1 x 3 bed); the unsustainable location with reliance on cars; the increased traffic along Pennis Lane, which is narrow and has public footpaths along some of its route; the extent of the rebuilding required to the barns; and the harm to the character of the area through the introduction of domestic paraphernalia and lighting.
Two Parish Councillors, along with a District Councillor, voiced those objections to SDC’s Development Control Committee when the application was debated earlier this month. However, the Committee agreed with the Planning Officer’s recommendation to grant approval, with a vote of 11 to 2 in favour. A number of conditions are attached to the development and these, along with other information, can be found in the Grant of Planning Permission and Committee Report here: https://pa.sevenoaks.gov.uk/onli…/applicationDetails.do…
