Will you go the extra mile for charity?

The Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community is once again hosting ‘Run, walk or push against dementia’ in Knole Park, Sevenoaks.

The event takes place on Sunday 19 May 2024 and is suitable for people of all ages and as ever, there will be 3k, 5k and 10k courses to sign up to. The timed 3k and 5k courses are suitable for those running, walking and pushing off road prams while the 10k course is intended for runners. Five-hundred places are available.

The event will raise money for the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community, a registered charity that supports local people who are living with dementia and their carers.

Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says: “We’re so excited that ‘Run, walk or push’ is back for 2024. It’s always a brilliant event in a beautiful setting for the whole family. This year we want to raise more money than ever for the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community.”

Co-founder of the Sevenoaks Area Dementia Friendly Community, Elaine Murray, adds: “Money raised from previous ‘Run, walk or push’ events helps to pay for our dementia -friendly cafés, Forget-me-not allotment, Forget-me-notes singing group and wellbeing days.

“Without the funds raised by this event, we would not be able to provide our services, which are a lifeline not only for people with memory issues but those who support them.”
