SDC: What’s Cooking – free cooking course

What’s cooking?

Residents can learn how to cook healthy food on a budget with a free, face-to face cooking course, starting Tuesday 9 July.

The five-week course is run by Sevenoaks District Council and will be held weekly at St Peter’s Church in Hextable. It will teach participants to prepare cost-effective, nutritious and delicious meals whilst learning how to reduce food waste.

Everyone who completes the course will also receive a free recipe book and a £20 shopping voucher.

This course is open to all residents in the Sevenoaks District, although priority will be given to those living or working in Swanley, New Ash Green, West Kingsdown, Fawkham, Hextable, Eynsford, Farningham, Crockenhill and Hartley.

Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, Cllr Lesley Dyball, says:

“We’re delighted to be able to offer this face-to-face cooking class. “Learning how to cook is a really important life skill which is good for both your health and your pocket”.

“With a free recipe book and £20 shopping voucher thrown in, we expect this course to be very popular!
