SDC Press Release – Free training courses for local businesses and their staff

Free training courses for local businesses and their staff

Businesses of any size can now access a vast range of free learning courses to help them grow, improve their efficiency and cut their carbon footprint.

Sevenoaks District Council is providing the training programme as part of its work to support local businesses and the local economy.

More than 200 courses are available covering a wide range of topics to help employees learn new skills and improve their employer’s performance.

Each course lasts one hour and is delivered online in real time giving participants the chance to interact and ask questions. Recordings of the courses can be viewed afterwards and there is no limit on the number of courses a business or employee can take.

To view all the courses on offer and to book a place, visit www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/seedl.

Cllr Lesley Dyball, Sevenoaks District Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, says: “With so many types of business in our District, this is a great way for us to support the learning needs of retailers and professional services alike and, as each course only lasts an hour, they don’t take up much of the working day.

“On completing a course, employees can download a completion of learning certificate to evidence their personal development.”

The courses are being delivered by SEEDL, a live learning service, and funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The courses are available until 7 May 2025.
