March 23rd 2020 saw the country go into a period of lockdown in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. During this time, Fawkham residents came together – virtually – as a community. People displayed colourful pictures of rainbows in their windows, came out to their doorstops at 8pm on a Thursday to clap for NHS and other key workers, enjoyed painting, hiding, finding and residing Fawkham Rocks, visited the Rising Sun Inn’s pop up “village shop”, children planted sunflower seeds, and those who could helped fellow villagers by volunteering to collect food and prescriptions. Some of these activities were captured by resident photographer Estelle Thompson and are shown in this gallery.
