Free afternoon tea to celebrate Armed Forces Day

Residents can enjoy music and socialising at free 1940s themed afternoon tea events throughout June.

Sevenoaks District Council is putting on the events as part of its Armed Forces Day celebrations.

They include wartime music, tea, cake, fun activities and a chance to chat with others.

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) will be attending all four events to talk about the help and support they offer to the community.

The events are taking place on

• Wednesday 5 June – 12noon to 2pm – Westerham Hall
• Wednesday 12 June – 12noon to 2pm – Rickards Hall, Edenbridge
• Wednesday 19 June – 12noon to 2pm – The Clock Tower Pavilion, St Mary’s Road, Swanley BR8 7BU
• Wednesday 26 June ¬ 12noon to 2pm – the Stag Plaza, Sevenoaks

Places are limited and should be booked in advance by visiting www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/afternoontea or calling the Council on 01732 227000.

Carers and family members are welcome and all venues are accessible for disabled people.

Cllr Lesley Dyball, the Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, says: “This is a great opportunity to have some fun while socialising. We’re really excited to provide these free events that improve the health and wellbeing of our residents while celebrating the contribution of our Armed Forces communities. Places are limited so I’d urge anyone interested to book their space as soon as possible.”
